Roller Ski Training Sessions (skating): There are roller ski training sessions every Saturday and Sunday Morning. Meet at Rock Valley College parking lot just north of the main entrance at 7:00 a.m.
The Saturday workout is done on a specific course for time. The course is approximately 4 miles and the number of laps increase as we get closer to the race season. We do a warm up lap and then do 1, 2 or 3 laps at race pace.
Sunday is a distance workout. Skiers meet at Rock Valley at 8:00 a.m. and ski from 1 to 3 hours at a more moderate pace than Saturday. Routes and distances vary. These workouts continue until there is skiable snow. Contact Steve Gausebeck for more information (stevegaus@comcast.net).
Roller Ski Training Sessions (classical): We have a few die-hard classical skiers who train on their own. They would be delighted to have other classical skiers join their training sessions. Contact Chuck Wallin (charles.wallin@comcast.net).
C.A.T. (Classical All Terrain) Skiing: If you are seeking companions for your C.A.T. skiing workouts, our classic skiers would love company. You can e-mail Chuck at charles.wallin@comcast.net.
Pole Running, Walking: No regular workouts scheduled, but a number of us do include this in our training.
