From Ginny Minch:

Once again, I have volunteered to distribute the Skiers for the Cure Birkie pin to help support Multiple Sclerosis research. This is the last year that the fundraising will go towards this very worthy cause. In the past, the support of Northern Illinois skiers has been tremendous and I hope that this year will be the same. Over the past year life-altering therapies including oral drug therapies have become available for people with MS, thanks in large part to donations from people like those who contribute to Skiers for Cures. The money raised will be used for research to bring us closer to a cure for this chronic, often debilitating disease that attacks the central nervous system including the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves.

The suggested donation for the pin is $20 and a check can be made out to: WI MS Chapter (subject Ski for a Cure) and mailed to me at Ginny Minch 1860 N Boone School Rd Caledonia, IL 61011. I would like to get all pins in the mail by 2/17 so they will arrive in plenty of time before folks head north. Even though Mother Nature has probably left training plans open to altered tactics I'm sure Illinois skiers will be well represented at the Birkie! Good luck, thanks for your support, and don't forget to wear the pin on your race bib to be eligible for terrific prizes at the finish lines of both races. I would appreciate a quick off list email or phone call if you are going to be mailing a contribution. ginnyminch@aol.com 815-988-5553.

Ted Holm on the Birkie Trail. Tom Detzner fulfilled my wish for a "snow picture". Thanks Tom.
